Qui sommes-nous ?
La Leche League (LLL) (Leche se prononce /lé tché/ et signifie le lait en espagnol, et League se prononce
/ligue/, littéralement la ligue du lait) est une organisation internationale non confessionnelle, non-sectaire, apolitique et à but non lucratif fondée en 1956 (depuis 1973 en Suisse) pour donner des informations et des encouragements, principalement grâce à un soutien personnel, à toutes les mères qui veulent allaiter leurs bébés.
Maintenant reconnue comme la plus importante organisation de soutien à l’allaitement, l’objectif principal de LLL continue a être celui de soutenir l’allaitement et le maternage. En Suisse et dans plus de 60 pays au monde, c'est le réseau de mères bénévoles (les animatrices LLL) qui assurent ce soutien.
About La Leche League (LLL)
La Leche League (Leche is pronounced /LAY-chay/ and means milk in Spanish, translated literally The Milk League) is a non-profit, non-denominational, non-sectarian, and apolitical organisation with over 3‘000 support groups found in over 60 countries worldwide. Established in 1956 in the United States and in 1973 in Switzerland its objective is to give information and encouragement, mainly through personal support, to all mothers who want to breastfeed their babies.
In Switzerland accredited LLL Leaders are available to help mothers in person, through the Internet, and over the phone (see Our Services). Most Leaders also organise monthly Mother-to-Mother Support Groups (La Leche League Meetings) where breastfeeding and mothering experiences can be shared. In Western Switzerland, English meetings are held in Nyon & Geneva. English meetings are also run in the Zurich area.

Les ventes, les dons et les adhésions sont les seuls moyens qui nous font gagner de l’argent pour nous permettre de continuer à vous aider.
En achetant un livre, en faisant un don, ou en adhérant à La Leche League Suisse romande, vous soutenez nos actions auprès des mères qui allaitent. L’argent gagné permet aux groupes de financer l’achat de livres pour nos bibliothèques de prêt, de former les animatrices et les stagiaires, et aussi de rembourser les frais de nos bénévoles.
Une cotisation a une valeur de que frs 50-. par année. Une partie de cette cotisation est gardée par LLL Suisse romande, une partie est reversée à LLL Suisse (qui peut alors organiser les congrès, publier de nouveaux feuillets). Une autre partie est reversé à LLLI qui sert notamment à financer des études sur l’allaitement et la lactation et d’assurer la représentation de La Leche League auprès des organismes internationaux.

Support Us
Book sales, donations and memberships are the only means by which LLL earns money to finance its activities and train its leaders.
By buying a book, donating, or joining LLL, you support other mothers and families who are looking for information and support. Monies raised finance the purchase of documentation for our lending libraries, finance continuing education of our leaders and trainees, and help cover the costs of all of our volunteers.
A membership costs only 50CHF per year. One part of the fee is kept in the region, another part is transferred to LLL CH (who uses the money to finance seminars, publish additional materials, etc.) and a third part is transferred to LLLI, which is principally used to finance continued research into breastfeeding & human lactation and to help LLLI have a presence at the international decision-making leve.
